Some of the best resource packs for Minecraft come in HD resolution, making most of the visuals in the game crisp, clear and much easier on the eyes. You’d think this would be a hard thing to do in a game where everything is all blocky, but it’s not impossible. The BufyCraft Realistic Resource Pack is a good example of how the right resource pack can totally change the way you view your Minecraft world. Thanks to the HD textures, everything looks better than ever, and this could be considered a direct upgrade over Minecraft’s standard visuals, the ones that come in 16x.

So far, BufyCraft Realistic looks amazing, but it’s still a work in progress. With that said, you would naturally not expect this resource pack to work with older versions of Minecraft. It does though – with game versions all the way back to 1.8.x. So, even if you’re stuck on an older Minecraft client so you can still visit your favorite multiplayer servers, or if you’re keeping your version dialed back because you don’t like the combat update or other recent updates, you can still use BufyCraft and get a lot of good out of it. Now let’s get into specifics.

With vastly improved stone and wood textures, you will notice the changes immediately, since those are usually the first blocks players begin to break and gather after starting a new Minecraft world. Ore blocks actually look like mineral and metal ores, with veins of ore running through them, rather than the default blocks which are covered with little dots and chunks. Besides looking more realistic, BufyCraft also looks more natural, so it’s great for players who don’t want a cartoony resource pack but instead want something that reminds them of real life. If that sounds like you, give BufyCraft a try.
