The Coterie Craft resource pack has been in development for a long time now. Not to say Coterie Craft is new or anything – working versions of the pack have been around since Minecraft 1.7, and other updates have made the pack compatible with Minecraft clients up to 1.11.2. There are also two different versions of this resource pack for Minecraft 1.11.2 and 1.10.2, in a 16x and 32x resolution, so Coterie Craft is accessible by a wide range of different users with different computers and different lists of mods that they like to use. It’s incredibly versatile, really.
Coterie Craft looks even better with the right shader pack or mod installed, but it doesn’t come with any of these extras included. You will need to download your own shaders if you plan to use any. Fortunately, this pack looks great even without enhanced shadow and lighting effects, thanks to the great artistic effort made to give blocks, items and other textures an interesting new look. You can see this immediately after booting up Minecraft if you just open your inventory and check the custom GUI, or have a look around and check your surroundings.
Because the resolutions for Coterie Craft tend to be low, you might also want to look for a recent version of Optifine to take care of things like connected textures and better skies for you. Also, not all of the textures are original and new. In many places, including inventory icons and environments like deserts, you’re going to notice textures that were ripped right from Minecraft. Most of the content is new though, so that’s kind of nice.
