The Equanimity resource pack features 3D rendered models that appear far more lifelike and real than anything you’ve probably seen before in vanilla Minecraft. To be fair, there are other 3D packs with way higher resolutions and better textures than you’ll see here, but that’s actually one of the reasons Equanimity is good. See, the lower 32x resolution means that more players can use Equanimity than they could if it was 128x, or 256x, or even 512x. It’s a simple, low-res pack, but if you can swing it Minecraft will look even better if you can use a shader pack or mod alongside it.

There are so many bright colors that just won’t come through as loud and clear as they could with a shader pack installed, so keep that bit in mind. Even without other mods though, some of the effects are very easy on the eyes. Water, for instance, looks much more natural than the slow-moving blue stuff it usually looks like; there are ripples in it and movement that makes it look like actual water. The same goes for lava, though the difference there isn’t as pronounced as it is in the water. Liquids just look better in Equanimity.

Modern is probably the best way to describe Equanimity, especially since it allows you to create homes that look like they might be from any suburb or other urban location near you. Not all of the blocks in Equanimity look better than they normally do though. For one, sandstone looks like a simple reskin of sand, same color and everything, with boring, flat faces, except for chiseled sandstone. One great point in this pack’s favor is the fact it still gets regular updates and it works with Minecraft 1.11 and 1.10.2.
