Created and maintained by MR_Boom3, the Full of Life resource pack manages to give players a more realistic visual experience when playing Minecraft. This is in part thanks to its 128x resolution, which is much higher than Minecraft’s standard 16x resolution – 8 times higher to be precise. Whether that means the textures are 8x better or not is a more subjective thing though. Some of them look great, like lava and water, but others kind of fail to keep up with those great ones, including the various ore blocks you run into while digging in the dirt and mining into the ground.
Seriously, the textures for both redstone ore and lapis lazuli ore look like someone puked on a gray slate and stuck it on a wall, they really are that bad. But the vast majority of other textures in Full of Life could be considered direct upgrades over their traditional Minecraft counterparts, so if you want a resource pack that gives your entire Minecraft world a facelift, then you will really like this one. Along with improved textures, the liquid movement animations for lava and water have also been improved to make them both appear to move more naturally and, well, fluidly.
Not that all of the standard textures are totally replaced either. You’ll notice that many of the trees still look more or less the same, except that the level of detail in the blocks has increased significantly. Even simple blocks like grassy dirt look much better in Full of Life. Thanks to the improved textures, this is an excellent choice of resource packs if you use other mods that add special lighting effects or reflections to the surface of bodies of water. Overall, Full of Life is a great option if you want to bring a deep sense of realism to Minecraft.
