Everyone who has played Minecraft before knows that it is a game about blocks. More specifically, it is a game about cubes and all of the things you can craft, build and construct using them, usually by combining them with other blocks or materials. This is why the HexaCraft resource pack is so unique. This pack pastes 6-sides objects all over your Minecraft world. It doesn’t change the blocks physically, but it does change the designs, colors and patterns found on basically every single texture found in the game, so it provides an interesting new look for boring old textures, which is nice.
That’s what resource packs are supposed to do in the first place, and in that respect, HexaCraft is an excellent pack. While HexaCraft does paste hexagons everywhere, sometimes the placement of these shapes doesn’t make much sense. For example, several blocks have their entire face replaced with one large hexagon, and sometimes that shape is filled with numerous, smaller hexagons that give the whole image a sort of honeycomb appearance. This pack might be great for players using mods to add bees to the game, but otherwise, some of the updated textures just seem out of place and strange.
If strange doesn’t bother you, then don’t let it stop you from enjoying HexaCraft. There don’t seem to be any other resource packs available for Minecraft which do the things this pack does, so it’s also unique. Because of the great number of polygons added by this resource pack, HexaCraft is at a 512x resolution, so you will need a good quality computer if you want to play with it. That hardware requirement will probably keep some players from using it, but for those with computers that can handle the extra stress, you’re pretty much guaranteed to like what you get.
