For fans of simple, cartoony graphics, LIIE’s Resource Pack is worth a look. There aren’t too many radical changes here, and to be fair the graphics aren’t too different from those found in vanilla Minecraft, but there are some differences worth mentioning. For one, diamonds are changed from their traditional aqua color to a bloody kind of red. This is cool, but it does kind of make diamonds clash with redstone, so you’ve been warned. The graphics are still easy enough to tell apart, but you’ll probably be frustrated the first time you break a “diamond” and get a handful of redstone dust instead.
LIIE’s Resource Pack for Minecraft was recently updated to be compatible with Minecraft 1.11 and 1.10.2 as well, though the same set of files will also work with 1.8.x versions too. That means this pack is compatible with recently updated and created mods that don’t work with older versions of the game. The same thing can be said for add-ons and other content, so if you’re using a bunch of newer mods but you can’t find a resource pack that also works with MC 1.9.X, this could be the answer to your problem. That’s not to say there aren’t other newish resource packs though.
The regular updates are one point which makes LIIE’s Resource Pack stand apart from others. It’s over a year old now and the author has religiously made little tweaks and changes every two weeks or so since that time. That dedication is the only reason the pack is compatible with the latest version of Minecraft when so many other, bigger, older packs return tons of errors if you try to use them instead. Textures are very sharp too, thanks to the 64x resolution.
