It’s kind of rare to see a resource pack that actually focuses on the mobs and items in Minecraft, rather than the blocks and construction materials. But the Paper Cut-Out resource pack does just that. It really gives all of the mobs a cool new design element by making them look like cut and folded paper constructs. This leads to some huge differences for some mobs, like the squid and ghast. The pack also includes multiple textures for some mobs, like creepers, so you can see different versions of certain mobs when you move from one biome to the next.
This layered paper effect applies to lots of other textures too, like armor, weapons, tools, potions and more. It doesn’t show up so much in the blocks, but those look different too, just not in the same way that the mobs do. For example, ores have two different looks, one for when they are raw in the ground and one for when you make blocks out of them. Everyone knows that. But those ores and ore blocks look fantastic in Paper Cut-Out, even if the majority seem to be palette swaps which are flipped onto their backs or sides for the different raw ores.
The paper theme extends to icons as well. Everything is flattened, even those items which might not necessarily look good in a flat version, like the potion bottles. You can alternate between vanilla icons and the Paper Cut-Out icons by making some small adjustments, so if this particular part of the aesthetic doesn’t go over well with you, there’s no need to shy away from the rest of the resource pack. There are custom icons for active potion effects too.
