Some of the best scary resource packs come with low resolutions that make things blurry and hard to see clearly, especially in dark environments like abandoned libraries and prisons. The ScarySauce resource pack actually makes good use of its 16x resolution to create a thrilling environment for players who are seeking either a medieval or dark, haunting feel for their Minecraft world. It is a couple of years in the making now, and thanks to regular updates ScarySauce also works with Minecraft 1.11 and 1.10.2. It’s 100% finished now, and with more content promised for future releases of Minecraft, that should persist.
Even if it doesn’t, 1.10.2 only recently released, so ScarySauce for Minecraft 1.11 and 1.10.2 will probably work for several months at least before any issues pop up. There are many new changes in this version of ScarySauce. One of items is a custom animation for lucky block effects that ties this resource pack to that mod. Other new textures include nether brick, chiseled stone, mossy and normal cobblestone and all wood blocks, just to name a handful. Many more textures have also been redone, all to the effect of making them darker and grittier. Even normally white blocks like wool and iron blocks have black smudges and streaks in them.
The overall effect is to make Minecraft look like a forlorn place. There are plenty of colorful textures but everything looks subdued, not at all bright. That makes the ScarySauce resource pack easy on the eyes of players, but it might also warrant turning up your brightness levels to see things better when traveling in darker areas. Overall this pack does pretty well for its meager resolution and not quite being half done. Keep an eye on this one.
