Tyza’s SimpleSharp resource pack (Or SimplySharp to some people), is very true to its name. With some of the simplest textures you’ve probably ever seen in Minecraft before, this pack is like the definition of cartoony. Many textures are flat, and very few contain more than one color or shades of the same color, so naturally you would expect the resolution to be low. However, at 128x, Tyza’s SimplySharp resource pack is actually kind of demanding on computer hardware resources. Most players will be able to use it, but many will experience some slowdown in loading when first starting a new world.

If you can get past that initial hiccup when beginning a new world or loading up new chunks, then this is a fantastic resource pack with great visuals. Some textures don’t appear to have changed at all – for example, the grass growing out of dirt which sometimes provides seeds when you cut it down. That looks like it always has, which isn’t necessarily a good thing or a bad thing. Actually, most of the big improvements seem to be in the Nether and End zones, with great lava effects and nice updates to the majority of textures found in the End, including the ships and forts.

Tyza’s SimplySharp resource pack is a fully finished project, so you don’t have to worry about waiting for more updates before the thing is all done. That means all the textures have already been updated. Using this pack, you can expect to see your entire Minecraft world shift towards a brighter, bolder, more cartoony look. If that’s the sort of thing you like, then you’re in luck, because you’ve found an excellent resource pack. If you’re looking for something more realistic, or maybe even in the science fiction genre, then you should just keep looking.
